Semolina Baguettes

Grilled Tri-Tip Sandwich

I had a batch of semolina dough hanging out, so I made a few small baguettes and grilled a tri-tip and some peppers and onions. Harper and I harvested fresh arugula from the garden and we put it all together with some spicy mustard and a horseradish cream sauce I made. The bread and the sandwiches were very good.

Revisiting Rye

We wanted to have some more peasant loaf type bread this week so I made up another batch of rye bread. This time I had the caraway seeds (thanks Mom) - the house smelled wonderful when this loaf came out of the oven.

Whole Wheat Sandwich Bread

Finally made a sandwich loaf out of the whole wheat dough. Made great sandwiches with extra sharp white cheddar (that's not butter) and a nice grainy mustard.

Whole Wheat Pita

I made a batch of whole wheat sandwich bread, but have yet to make any sandwich bread out of it. Instead, we've been making pita and some yummy hummus all week. Fresh pita is delicious and super fast. Cut some dough, shape into boule, roll out (not too thin I've found or you end up with cracker bread, which is also good) bake at high heat. Within fifteen minutes of deciding you want fresh pita, you are eating fresh pita. It's like a pocket bread miracle.
